Michalis P. Michael, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Invest Cyprus

Michalis P. Michael is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency since January 2018. He has a long professional career in business and audit services, both as a sole practitioner and as a Partner in KPMG Cyprus. Michael has a vast experience in the Ukrainian market, and he is the Chairman of the Cyprus-Ukraine Business Association from 2012 until today. Michael has been actively involved with public life since his early career. Formerly, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (1996-2000), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Organisation of Land Development (2000-2003), Member of the Committee for the Supervision and Development of Cooperative Societies (2003-2013). He was also Member of the Board of Directors of The Cyprus University of Technology (2014-2016) where he held the position of Vice-President (July 2016-2018). Michalis is a Chartered Certified Accountant, a Fellow member of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, of which he served also as a Member of the Board of Directors.

Constantinos Petrides, Minister of Finance, Republic of Cyprus

Constantinos Petrides assumed office as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus on 3rd of December 2019. Prior to his appointment, he served as Minister of Interior (1 May 2017 - 3 December 2019) and Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus since (1st March 2013 – 30 April 2017). From September 2011 to February 2013 was the Director of the Office of the President of the Democratic Rally. In 2006 he was hired at the European Commission in Brussels where he worked as an economist at the Directorate General for Agriculture and the Directorate General for Competition until September 2011. During his stay at the European Commission he served as negotiator of trade liberalization agreements between the EU and third countries and also worked on issues of public aid in the field of transportations. From 2000 until 2006 he served as Senior Officer at the Association of Cyprus Banks and as representative of the Association to the European Banking Federation and the National Euro Changeover Committee. During the negotiations for Cyprus’ accession to the EU in 2000 he worked on issues of harmonization at the Directorate for EU-Cyprus relations of the Planning Bureau. He studied Economics at the University of Nottingham and then acquired an MSc in Political Economy of Transition in Europe from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

Savvas Perdios, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Cyprus

Savvas Perdios is the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus as of January 2, 2019. He was born in 1981 in Lefkosia, Cyprus. He studied Accounting and Finance at Warwick University (2002-2004) and International Hospitality Management (BA, 2004-2008) at the École Hôteliere de Lausanne. Mr Perdios considers himself very lucky that he can practice his hobby for a living. His career in hospitality began at the very young age of 15, undertaking various summer jobs in hotel departments like kitchen, maintenance, service, banqueting, housekeeping and guest relations. Between 2008 and 2010 after completing his studies, Mr Perdios worked for internationally known companies like Design Hotels in Mykonos and Kempinski Hotels in Switzerland. From January 2010 until January 2018 he worked at Louis Hotels from the position of Quality and Brand Manager. This entailed being in charge of creating, implementing and maintaining operating standards across the whole portfolio (25 hotels and several restaurants), and also being in charge of branding and reputation management. After 8 years in this position. Mr Perdios was promoted to Chief Operation Officer, a position which he held until his appointment at the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism. He is fluent in Greek, English, French and German.

George Campanellas, CEO, Invest Cyprus

George Campanellas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) and the Vice President of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He has nearly twenty years of professional experience in Cyprus and abroad, working with the DG Competition in Brussels and directly with the Cypriot Ministers of Health and Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism. George has been actively involved in the development of the oil & gas sector in the Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone, dealing with licensing, exploration and exploitation activities, as well as promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at a regional level. Throughout his career, he also had an active role in drafting the regulatory framework and running the relevant licensing procedures for attracting Foreign Direct Investment in sectors of strategic importance and large-scale infrastructure projects, such as the LNG terminal at Vasilikos Energy Center, Cyprus Techno Park, EuroAsia Interconnector and the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated casino resort and Cyprus’ largest FDI project.

Christophe de Bruyn, CEO, Innovative Tourism Advisors (THR)

Christophe de Bruyn is the CEO of THR (Innovative Tourism Advisors). He has more than 30 years of experience in the tourism, hospitality, leisure & real estate sector in more than 40 countries around the world, including Mediterranean destinations. He has led the definition of concept, feasibility studies, master planning and business plans for projects in this sector for numerous investors. Moreover, he has extensive experience in the planning and management of tourism destinations and institutions including the setting up of public-private partnership investment and operations schemes. He has worked in many Mediterranean countries such as Spain, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Cyprus, Morocco and Tunisia. He has also specific experience in islands Balearic and Canary Islands, Ionic Islands, Malta, Curaçao, Madagascar, Red Sea Island in KSA, Musandam Peninsula in Oman, Philippines etc. He has worked intensively with tourism investors of many different profiles: developers, sole investors, real estate and hospitality investment funds, family offices, institutional investors and investment promotion agencies. Andreas Assiotis, Board Member, National Economic and Competiveness

Andreas Assiotis is a Board Member at National Economic and Competiveness and the Group Chief Economist of Hellenic Bank Company Ltd, one of the three systemic banks in Cyprus, where he directs economic analysis and research. Andreas is also a member of the National Economic and Competitiveness Council of Cyprus and the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the country’sLong Term Economic Strategy. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Blockchain Technologies Center. He has held both academic and consultancy positionsto domestic and international organizations.

Andreas Santis is the Managing Director - Office Head for W. Balkans, Greece and Cyprus – Director of Cyprus Affiliates at NCH Capital Inc. In June 2014 Andreas joined NCH Capital Inc. and he is responsible for identifying new investment opportunities and for expanding and developing NCH activities in the region including but not limited to the real estate and hospitality sectors. From 2001 until 2014 Andreas has been actively involved in the real estate business and in the development of small to large scale projects in countries like Greece, UAE, Bulgaria and Cyprus. Andreas was originally the CFO and subsequently the Managing Director and Vice President of Quality Group, a property development organization with its head offices in Larnaca Cyprus. Andreas is a Fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in the UK. He holds a BA degree in Accounting and has worked in the profession with PWC with a focus on taxation and business consultancy matters. Andreas has been a member and a spokesperson of the Executive Committee of the Cyprus Property Developers Association from 2011 to 2014 as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Cyprus Football Association from 2007 to 2014. He has been a speaker and/or panelist at several regional/European real estate and hospital forums and a member of a judicial panel for real estate awards

Elie Milky, Vice President Development, Radisson Hotel Group, Middle East, Pakistan, Greece & Cyprus

Elie Milky is the Vice President Development of Radisson Hotel Group, Middle East, Pakistan, Greece & Cyprus. He is responsible for driving expansion opportunities and leading Radisson Hotel Group’s strategic growth and hotel portfolio in the Middle East as well as Cyprus and Greece. His responsibility is to continue to grow the Group’s regional portfolio across each of Radisson Hotel Group’s core brands: Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Radisson RED and Radisson Collection. A Lebanese national, Elie has 20 years’ experience in development and asset management with international hospitality consultants, as well as a global hotel operator. Elie was formerly part of the HVS team based in London and in Dubai, where his focus was on conducting feasibility studies, valuations, ROI analyses and strategic advice. He joined Radisson Hotel Group in 2010 as Development Manager quickly rising to his current VP role within the organisation. His ability to forge enduring cross-cultural relationships has proven to be a key attribute in a career that has included mandates for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Stephanie Panayi, Head of Strategic Projects, Invest Cyprus

Stephanie Panayi is leading the Strategic Projects Unit, dedicated to attract and facilitate foreign direct investments into sectors of strategic importance for the Cyprus Government, including hospitality & tourism, healthcare, energy infrastructure and large commercial real estate. She is experienced in the field of foreign direct investment, asset management, private equity, investor relations management and business development. Her role is focused on identifying big-ticket investment opportunities across strategic goals, available in both the public and the private sector in Cyprus, while she is also engaged in the communication with Institutional Investors. Stephanie’s studies include Applied Foreign Languages Degree and MSc in International Management &Business. She is also a holder of Hotel Asset Management Certificate from Ecole Hôtelière DE Lausanne and Private Equity Investment Certificate from IFF, UK. Ms Panayi is also the President of the Cyprus Federation of Young Business and Professional Women (Young BPW). She is fluent in Greek, English and French and conversant in Russia.
